Massage therapy as treatment helps alleviate the soft tissue discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic conditions. Manipulation of the soft tissue of the body to gain a therapeutic response is the primary function of massage. Soft tissue includes muscle, skin and connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and fascia. Massage therapists use a variety of therapies and techniques depending on your needs.
Massage is not covered by OHIP. Many private insurance companies provide full or partial coverage under extended flexible health care plans.
